Staci Hunt (CPM) will be coming to Raleigh, NC on March 8th - March 12th for the Midwifery Skills Workshop.
The attachment gives a comprehensive list of the things that will be covered. This is a "hands-on" workshop and is good for the beginning midwifery student as well as the advanced apprentice ready to sit for their CPM exam. We can/will tailor the workshop to cover skills that students need to practice and master. Those students working on their PEP direct entry application will have the chance to perform skills required for the NARM application process. Bring your "Practical Skills Guide for Midwifery" with you to the workshop. Staci provides all of the necessary materials (included in workshop fee) for students to accurately perform the proper skills and get "hands on" experience while doing it. The cost of the Midwifery Skills Workshop is $600. In addition, there will be a Suturing Workshop following the Midwifery Skills Workshop on March 13th. The workshop will give an overview of anatomy, but focus on techniques. Please bring suturing instruments with you if you have them. If not please let me know, they can be provided for the workshop or available for purchase from Staci. The cost of the suturing workshop is $75 without instruments and $150 including instruments (to take home with you). If you are interested in either or both of these workshops, please email me to reserve your spot doulamama@mysticalwomb.com A $100 deposit will hold your place and the rest of the workshop fees can be paid before (to me) or at the workshop directly to Staci (checks, cash, and paypal are accepted). The workshop will be held at The Peace Tree Village, 609 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. (919) 809-7910. www.peacetreeorg.com You can also call my cell at 919-418-5805 for more info or email me offline. I have taken this workshop with Staci in Wilmington and it was outstanding! It gave me the necessary skill preparation I needed to prepare for my midwifery training mission to Honduras. I highly recommend this workshop to assistants, apprentices, and to new midwives alike. This workshop is also suitable for anyone wanting to acquire basic skills to learn what the midwifery path is all about. Advanced students interested in "hard to acquire" skills may email requests for "specific" things to be covered at the end of the workshop week, and every attempt will be made to give each student the skills training that they need and/or want. Everyone at all levels of study and training will be challenged and encouraged through group participation. Staci's extensive experience and approachable attitude toward teaching is an asset to the student, and a genuine gift to the birth community she serves, which includes the Amish. Staci is the daughter-in-law of one of the original FARM midwives, Pamela Hunt. You don't want to miss out on this opportunity to work with such a skilled and knowledgeable CPM. Space is limited, so don't wait to sign up. Thanks! |
