I used cloth diapers on Daniel for a good while when he was small. However, I had no idea of all the cool ones out there! I just used Gerbers with pins and rubber pants. I am thinking of going back to cloth some for him and using cloth for the new baby. I was looking online today and I found lots of patterns and instructions to sew your own fitted and all-in-one cloth diapers. Has anyone else made diapers? Any tips?
I am thinking of using a Gerber prefold as a pad, lining with flannel and covering with a cute print. I priced waterproof fabrics online and they were high...However, I can get Scotch Guard fabric waterproofing spray at Wal-Mart for around $5. Wondering if it will work. I could treat the cotton cover before sewing the diaper. Velcro closures and elastic at the legs.
Also, if this does not work, I will be in the market for diapers. Who use what? Does anyone have a great one to recommend?
