* The Chicago HB meetup group is the largest at this time with 241 members.
* The NC Triangle HB group is the second largest with 181 members.
* Your organizer Sonya started the NC Triangle HB meetup group.
* The Atlanta (not N. Atlanta) HB meetup group is the third largest meetup group with 168 members.
* Aprox. 50% of husbands were in attendance at HB meetups while Sonya was with the Triangle Homebirth Meetup group.
* A Lot of Friendships have been formed through Homebirth Meetups!
* Each woman/family that attends has their own unique experience or resource to share
* Some topics we will cover with the N. Atlantic Homebirth Meetup will include * The safety of Homebirth,
* Waterbirths, * Preparing for a Homebirth, * Vaccines, * Parenting preferences, * Cloth diapering, *VBAC, *Breastfeeding, *GFOM, *Politics, *What babies want, *Local resources and support, * Midwifery care, *Siblings at birth, *Postpartum Depression. *Herbs for use in pregnancy and beyond, * Alternative care * Sharing of Birth stories, *Dads 411 and more.
*Some of our meetups have a specific topic, some are more casual and everything is up for discussion.
*There is no better way in this area to have fun, make friends and gain support, information and resources for a Homebirth.
*The N. Atlanta Meetup Group is an important step in preserving the rights of parents to choose Homebirth!
*The purpose of The N. Atlanta Homebirth Meetup is to provide a supportive, encouraging, informative, resourceful community of families that have the same interest of educating the community on the benefits, safety, and options of homebirth and preserving the rights of all families to have a Homebirth with their provider of choice in attendance.
* At one time there was 8 HB meetup groups in NC, more than any other state, all other states had 2 or less. We would love to see the same in GA!
