Introduction
Hi All! We live in Decatur and look forward to meeting more homebirthers
Have you given birth at home? With a midwife or without?
I had a brief and intense labor. My determined little guy was born footling breech at home with Beth as our wonderful midwife.
What would you like to discuss at meetings?
Different aspects of birth and parenting.
Are you a childbirth professional?
I'm an aspiring midwife. I am doing some indepedent academic study and I apprenticed for almost a year. Hopefully I can resume my apprenticeship and begin a more formal course of academic study in the next few months.
What do you have to offer this group? What would you like to get from it?
I have my own birth experience to draw from as well as the births I had the priviledge to assist with as an apprentice. I think I'm becoming a pretty good mom and I'd love to meet others who live nearby to share stories with and learn from.
What is your most profound birth memory?
It was warm & rainy. The door & windows were open and off and on I noticed the sound of the rain. While I was pushing, someone said "listen to the birds!". I stopped and became aware of dozens of birds singing in the rain just before I gave birth.
